In the morning of September 14, 2022, the signing ceremony of the tri-party cooperation agreement of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT - https://hcmut.edu.vn/) ; My Phuong Trading Company Limited (MPCo - https://www.mpcovn.com/); and Survalent Technology Corporation (Ontario, Canada) - on applications of Survalent SCADA Software for educational purposes at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). These SCADA/ADMS software sponsored by Survalent will later be integrated in the curriculum, training, and practice simulation at the Faculty's laboratory. Along with Survalent's sponsorship, MP Co will conduct training and transfer technology using the SCADA/ADMS software system for the teaching staff so that they can re-train students in the future. The SCADA/ADMS Survalent software is a great support for the Faculty of Electrical-Electronics Engineering in training, and 4.0 technology transfer in the field of research and smart grid application.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Thang, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology said that HCMUT was established from 1957, is one of the leading technical universities in Vietnam. Currently, the University is improving the quality of teaching and research, aiming to become one of the recognized centers for education, research and innovation in the region. At HCMUT, there are currently more than 26,000 undergraduate/graduate students from 11 faculties, of which nearly 900 students annually belong to the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering majoring in electrical engineering, electronics, automation & control engineering, who are oriented to work in the field of automation in industries such as electricity, oil and gas, renewable energy, etc.
The Vice President highly appreciated the software technology that MPCo and Survalent awarded to HCMUT. By this occasion, the Vice-President also expressed his sincerest thanks to the Sponsor, and also expressed his wish to start academic and research training activities for students and lecturers from Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
By the ceremony, MPCo and Survalent also shared more information about them. With more than 60 years of experience in the field of providing SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition)/DMS (Distribution Management System)/OMS (Outage Management System) software, Survalent Technology Corp. has successfully stepped in 40 countries with more than 800 SCADA control center systems, DMS/OMS application in operation, monitoring, analysis, system optimization of the electricity, water supply, ect. In Vietnam, Survalent Technology Corp., together with MPCo, has successfully put the Survalent software system into operation on 10 SCADA Control Centers for Power Companies under the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) at EVNCPC (6 centers: Da Nang PC, Khanh Hoa PC, Quang Binh PC, Phu Yen PC, Kontum PC, Daknong PC); EVNHCMPC (2 centers), Ninh Binh PC, Dong Nai PC, in which there were 9 DMS Operation Centers with DAS (Distribution Automation System) functions for medium voltage 22kV and more than 100 substations for 110 kV, 220 kV from 2014 to present.
MPCo and Survalent hope that with the introduction of SCADA/ADMS Survalent software system into the teaching and training process for students, it can help students immediately access a practical software system, which currently considered as a reliable technology in the development of medium voltage power grids, highly recommended by EVN in the context of 4.0 technology transformation. This system is gradually developing according to the Smart Grid development roadmap (Smart Grid) of EVN in the future.
For many years, MP Co has cooperated with HCMUT in accepting HCMUT students to research on Survalent's SCADA/ADMS software application in graduation thesis topics. The operation of the SCADA/ADMS Survalent Laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering marks a new chapter in the promising partnership between HCMUT - MPCo - SURVALENT Corp. in developing training activities associated with practical knowledge. On the other hand, this also helps students to have a clearer orientation for their future career, to easier access to fast - changing technologies.

Accordingly, after the agreement signing and handing over of SCADA/ADMS Survalent software, MP Co will support in implementing a training and technology transfer program: providing the entire curriculum & practical instructions on how to use SCADA/ADMS software at the Lab of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, for Lecturers of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (all of whom are PhDs graduated from developed countries, such as France, USA, Germany, Germany, Australia, Japan, Russia, ect.) so that they can master the SCADA/ADMS software technology and soon apply it to the curriculum for students.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Hong Tuan - Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, received the software licenses and made plans to deploy software application in building experiments for training undergraduate, graduate, and develop research & technology transfer to lecturers. This activity is to meet the roadmap of digital transformation 4.0 as well as the development orientation of the Smart Grid of EVN in the future. Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering sent his sincerest thanks to the sponsor and wished to continue cooperation in the coming years.
