Following the direction of the Northern Power Corporation in reducing power loss and improving voltage quality, the Northern High Voltage Grid Company implemented a plan to install medium voltage capacitor banks for 110kV substations managed by the Company. Quy Hop 110kV substation is the first 110kV substation to install a 35kV capacitor bank with a 5MVAr capacity.

Time: The project was completed at 16:00 on June 7, 2014 and combined with the periodic testing of the substation, the capacitor bank was successfully energized and operated at 19:30 on the same day
